Dr. Anushtup De is a surgeon with expertise in General Surgery and Basic and advanced laparoscopic surgery like Gall bladder Surgery, Appendix surgery, hernia surgery, intestinal obstruction, piles, and fistula surgery, etc. His special interest includes complex and recurrent hernia and laser surgery for varicose veins, piles, fistula, and fissure.
General surgery is a broad surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents such as the esophagus, stomach, small and large intestine, liver and gall bladder, spleen, etc. It also involves the skin and soft tissue infections like abscesses, breast diseases, trauma, and hernia.
Laparoscopic surgery has grown rapidly involving a vast spectrum of diseases from basic surgery like Gall bladder and appendix surgery to complex and recurrent hernia and weight loss(bariatric ) surgery. The surgery is performed through small holes made over the abdomen through which a camera and fine working instruments are inserted.
Laser surgery is an upcoming and relatively new modality of treatment for piles, fistula, fissures, and pilonidal sinus. It is also used for the treatment of Varicose veins in the legs
Dr. Anushtup De is an alumnus of Medical College Calcutta, the oldest and one of the most renowned medical colleges in India. After completing his Postgraduation DNB in General Surgery in 2006, he did his fellowship in basic and advanced Laparoscopic Surgery under the prestigious India Association of Gastrointestinal Surgeons of India. Simultaneously, he secured a membership in the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburg (MRCS) in 2016. Later he also acquired the Fellowship in Advanced Hernia and Colorectal Laparoscopic Surgery under the auspices of IAGES.
Being a keen academic he has to his credit a number of national and international publications in the field of Minimal Access, Single Incision, Endovenous, and Bariatric Surgery. He is also a tutor and guide to postgraduate students to the National Board of Examinations.
